Tale of Two Days

What sweet babies! Unfortunately getting a shot of them both smiling and looking at the camera is next to impossible, but I love catching them being sweet just as much!

I got back the CD from Maggie's One Year Portrait session-she wasn't exactly at her best that morning, but we got a few smiles

Sorry this is sideways-this was Will showing Maggie how to pose for pictures

Sorry again-don't know why I can't rotate this-Maggie's one year portrait session

Maggie splashing in the inflatable pool

We hadn't expected the weather to be quite so warm so we were a little underprepared for splash time-check out those diapers! (Don't worry, as soon as I took this shot they both got suits and swim diapers)

Eating watermelon in the fort-one of the best seedless watermelons ever!

Will hanging out on the zip line-my action shots were a bust!

Maggie digging the watermelon also. I think she had 3 or 4 huge pieces

Will wanted to watch a a little bit of a "Little Einsteins" episode to wind down that evening-keep in mind we had played from about 8 that morning until 7 that night with no naps or breaks at all. I went to check on Maggie and came back to find this.

I love that Maggie is such a split personality-one second she'll be digging in the mud with Will and the next she'll be walking around the house carrying one of her 50 purses!

We had another fun week last week-Will is just at this wonderful age where everything is so much fun and to Maggie, it's all new and exciting. We love the summer time and all the outdoor activities and this is really her first year to enjoy them. It is such a blessing to be able to stay home with my babies and do all the things with them that we get to do, and even more so that Eric is home with us as well now!

So the post is titled that way because the kids look so "proper" in the first few pics and our Saturday was anything but! We've been calling it our "WT" day, and for good reason. After a morning at Farmer's Market, we ended up at Tyler's house to paint while Eric and Jeffrey made a home depot run. You've seen the pics of Will doing his best plumber impersonation after an unexpected dip in the pool. When we took his diaper off, we decided to just give him swim trunks, no diaper, and work on potty training. Well it turns out, he is great at peeing in the grass. Every 30 minutes or so, he would come and get us to help him and never had a single accident. He still won't go near a potty, but at least we made some progress (if you can call it that?) After awhile there, the guys decided they could build a zip line in our backyard, so we headed over here. While the guys rigged a zip line between two trees, Kristy and I inflated a splash pool and put it at the bottom of the slide on our playground. Let me also set the scene of our backyard right now-half of our yard is still covered in the dirt they brought before they poured the foundation for Eric's office. We also have scrap wood, a door and door frame, trash the construction workers have left among the wood pile, etc. in the part of our yard that actually has grass. Oh well, we had such a fun day and the kids ran themselves ragged so we all had an early evening! This was all after Will had stayed up late the night before at a dodgeball birthday party! Happy birthday Blake and Cade!

Hope everyone's having a great week!
